Dog lovers will perk up. The Kennel Kennel Club of America revealed the best breeds for 2019, and many of their favorite pets have returned to the top of the podium. For over a quarter of a century, they have been at the top of the number one ranking, but several surprises have appeared among them.
For example, the French Bulldog over the past few years has risen on the list. These cute puppies went their wave of celebrity to fourth place. Getting into the top ten is a monumental move for the German Shorthaired Pointer, who in the last decade has not been very prominent in the popularity list. This is the highest position for him since it was recognized in 1930.
Here are the 10 most popular breeds:
1. Labrador Retriever
These friendly and active puppies have been in first place for the last 28 years in a row. This is a breed that should be with its owners. Labrador Retriever personifies the definition of universality – hunting, exhibitions, family, dock diving (diving), tracking (tracking, tracking), obedience. When it comes to complete charm, these puppies can simply rise above the rest. For 28 years, the universal sports breed reigned supreme in the registry of the American Kennel Club.
2. German shepherd
These reliable companions often work as police officers as well as service dogs because they are loyal to their main guardians.
Some four-legged dogs are more attractive than others, but when it comes to working intelligence (that is, following commands), the German Shepherd stands out among all.
3. Golden Retriever
The Golden Retriever is smart, intelligent and friendly and is basically a movie star of the group, with the main roles in American films and TV shows: “Full House”, “King of the Air” and “The Way Home”.
4. French Bulldog
The French Bulldog dogs have “great personalities,” but they require minimal exercise and training. Therefore, it is not surprising that eared dogs are the best choice among dog lovers in New York, San Francisco and Miami.
5. English Bulldog
Indeed – the presidential choice. Both Warren Harding (29th President of the USA) and Calvin Coolidge (30th President of the USA) owned these worthy and brave English Bulldogs.
Curious and funny – beagles, wherever they are, stick their nose everywhere and often get into trouble.
They come in standard, miniature and completely toy sizes, but all poodles are considered to be one, extremely intelligent breed. As for their bizarre haircut, it is intended for poodles to protect joints and organs in cold water, although most of them are now purely domestic dogs.
Known as protective guardians, Rottweilers can show a softer side – as loving, loyal and loyal companions of their owners. According to the Kennel Club, they are the best guard dogs, very brave and, with proper training, will do everything possible to protect their owner.
9. German Shorthair Pointer
Known as excellent hunting and field dogs, due to their intelligence and strong sense of smell. This breed is elegant, however, quite strong and powerful. They need daily training – both physical and mental. A very friendly dog.
10. Yorkshire Terrier
Funny fact: Yorkies became fashionable pets only in the late Victorian era, but they actually started as pest catchers in clothing factories. These charming animals are miniature in size but massive in character.
It’s impossible to pick favorites when it comes to dogs. Each of them deserves the title of man’s best friend.
