Play is the basis for the proper development of every animal, whether domestic or wild forest inhabitants. A video was published online, clearly showing how a fox stole a dog’s toy. Although the pet owner initially wondered why his pet was barking so nervously, when he looked out the window, everything became clear.
Does the dog get attached to objects? Each animal has its preferences and depending on the form of play it likes, it will certainly find its favorite toy. It is not surprising that it does not want to share it with all the animals or people it meets. A video showing a fox playing with a dog toy in the garden, which the original owner certainly did not like, quickly became a hit on the Internet. Even if the dog barked nervously at the ginger intruder, its reaction can be surprising. The recording reached internet users all over the world.
Fox plays with stolen toy
Lupe Johnson, who lives in Canada, was doing some housework when he heard his Rottweiler dog start barking furiously. Without hesitation, the man looked out the window to see what had caused such an extreme reaction. The reason turned out to be an intruder who had broken into private property.
The dog owner had the opportunity to see a strange animal playing with a dog ball left in the yard. It was neither the neighbors’ dog nor a cat living at large. There was a fox running wild on the lawn! Lupe quickly took out his phone and recorded this unusual phenomenon, then shared the video online.
The dog had every right to be outraged by the situation, because the ginger guy had chosen his favorite toy. Better yet, his loud barking did not bother him. At his best, he threw the ball in the air and rolled on the grass, accompanied by the barking of the Rottweiler. “This is my toy. You can’t play with it. Put it back!” – the angry animal seems to say.
The video posted on YouTube has already been viewed almost 4 million times, but it is not the only such situation filmed. Below, you can admire the fox puppies playing in the garden with a stolen ball.
Wild animals can be dangerous for pets โ and vice versa
Although the images of foxes playing with dog toys are extremely cute, you should be aware that wild animals that enter areas inhabited by humans can pose a threat not only to themselves, but also to their pets. In Poland, the main reservoir of the rabies virus is the red fox, although it also transmits other infectious diseases, the consequences of which can be very serious. For this reason, animals should not be allowed to play with balls and other accessories that wild creatures have access to.
In addition, releasing animals to chase away a predator can pose unnecessary danger to them. At such a time, it is best to lock them up indoors and only allow them out into the yard after you have made sure the threat has passed. An encounter between wild and domestic animals can have disastrous consequences for both parties.
