a dog accompanied his trapped companion for a week

Phoebe, a basset hound, was trapped and lost in a concrete cistern that was in the middle of a ravine in a forest in Virginia, USA.

He stayed there for a week, but during that time he was never alone. His friend, Tillie, another dog, was with him for 7 days until he was rescued. While she was by his side, Tillie only moved away from him to seek help.

Some people, who were outside their property, saw that a “red” haired dog (Tillie) had approached several times before returning very quickly to a ravine in the woods.

The non-profit animal rescue organization Vashon Island Pet Protector had posted photos of the dogs on their Facebook page, hoping someone would find them, and in September they got the call they had been waiting for.

Based on this information, a group of volunteers built the road to the ravine. After searching for a while, they heard Tillie answering their calls. A few minutes later, they found Phoebe leaning against the concrete wall where she had been waiting for a week. Despite the hunger and the cold, both dogs were doing well.

Amy Carey, a member of the organization Vashon Island, assured that this story is a call to all those people who have lost hope.

“Hope is very hard to keep open and alive in the face of anguish, but having a happy ending in missing dog stories is very important.”

This is absolutely the sweetest story.
