Basil and his brothers are little kittens who were found a little over a month ago wandering the streets of San José, California (USA). The Humane Society Silicon Valley took them in and found them a foster home.
The kittens were underweighting and looked very hungry. Little by little, with the help of their foster family, they began to flourish, and as soon as they were in good health, they met their brother Angus, an affectionate and fluffy dog.
Angus is used to taking care of kittens and likes to help; he was eager to meet the newcomers.
Alexandra Baggs, head of content marketing at The Humane Society Silicon Valley, told The Dodo:
“Basil is the most outgoing and adventurous of his brothers. His adoptive mother describes him as “a little wild child”. »
This kitten likes to lie on his dog brother’s fur

Basil immediately went to meet Angus, while the other little cats were much more timid at first. From that moment, these two friends share as much time as possible together, and they are always supervised by their adoptive mother, who ensures that they have a good bond.
When they are not having fun playing, they can be found taking peaceful naps next to each other.
Alexandra says:
“He came over, touched Angus’s face with his paw and jumped onto his dog’s bed. After a few minutes of play, she snuggled up to Angus and that’s been her pattern ever since. He was immediately certain that snuggling up to Angus’s side was a safe place for him and he never seemed to have the slightest doubt.”

One of these days, while they were having a nap, Basil snuggled up so close to Angus that he was practically invisible. so much so that his mother didn’t even notice he was there.
After watching carefully, the woman was able to discover that the little cat was camouflaged in Angus’ fur, and she couldn’t help but smile at the tender scene.
Alexandra adds:
“His foster family knew Basil was hanging out with Angus, but when he looked up a minute later he didn’t see him right away. She was like, ‘I know he was there. , where did he go ?'”

Basil feels safe with Angus because the dog has helped him build his confidence.
Alexandra added:
“Once her eyes focused and she found it, she laughed and took her phone to take a picture. She knew they got along well, but until that moment she hadn’t realized the exact combination they were, like camouflage. »
