Mustafa Efe, Imam of the Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi mosque, lets stray cats enter the mosuqe since 2015. He wants to keep them warm during the cold winter days.
Efe makes his guests feel exactly like home. In fact, the cats are so safe and comfortable that a cat has even brought her kittens one by one! She placed her little fluffy kittens in the mihrab (the chair where the Imam sits).
“The cat has found the heart of compassion and mercy,” wrote Efe on Facebook.
According to several witnesses, many stray cats and kittens found a warm home in this mosque. The doors are always wide open so that furry friends can wander freely and have shelter and food.

Overcome your cat phobia
Osman Acar, who came to the Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi Mosque to pray, is one of those who defeated the cat phobia in the mosque.
Acar, who became afraid of cats when a cat jumped on him from the trash can, managed to overcome this fear at Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi Mosque, where he came to pray 1.5 years ago.
