There’s nothing worse in the world than accidentally tripping or stepping on your dog’s or cat’s tail. Although they really should know by now that lying in the middle of the living room floor or other high traffic areas always ends badly for everyone involved.
And even if they know you didn’t do it on purpose, an apology, preferably followed by a treat, goes a long way to smoothing things over.
But Ralphie the Newfoundland doesn’t want an immediate apology. We don’t know what his mother Bee did, but regardless, even though she tries to apologize and explain to Ralphie what happened, this dog just refuses her apology.
The dog is angry with mom and refuses to forgive her
She asks :
“Hey, what’s up? Are you mad at me?”
Ralphie stares straight ahead, as if a small part of him has just died. After several long moments, he casts a cold, reluctant look over his shoulder.
He is really very angry with mom.
She insists :
“Did I do something to you? Why are you looking at me like that?
Ralphie seems to be saying:
“Don’t ask me. You know exactly what you did. And you better apologize.”
She asks again:
“Ralphie? Are you mad at mum? Oh, won’t you even look at me? You won’t even look at me? Sorry! Sorry!”
Eventually, Ralphie finds it in his big furry heart to forgive him just once and he climbs onto his lap, then covers his face with kisses.
The family brought Ralphie into their family several years ago, followed by his brother, another Newfoundland dog named Boss.
So their human ‘little brothers’, Lenox, Cruz and Tegan, have had years to watch these professional pooches, learning to blame their parents for tripping over them, with excuses that are almost certainly over the top despite having been done.
