Meet Belarus – a majestic fur ball with a unique pair of eyes
Belarus was adopted by a young woman while in a shelter in the American city of San Francisco, almost two years ago when Belarus was 1 year old.
Rachel, a young woman living in San Francisco, USA, was looking for a cat to adopt when she read an Instagram post from ‘Animal Care and Control Shelter’ in her city.
When she saw his face, she fell in love with him quickly and did not hesitate to meet him.
When she arrived, Rachel and Belarus became inseparable: the cat, barely a year old at the time, was a cheerful animal, which aspired to have company and constantly asked for attention each person visiting the shelter.
Belarus has a special condition which is a malformation that causes the eyes to look away. Far from feeling uncomfortable or discovering what it was in case he needed veterinary care (everything indicates that he was born like this) I do not hesitate to adopt him.
“I had won the pleasure of bringing him home. He has installed himself in a rather surprising way and is now absolutely pampered. He follows me everywhere, especially in the bathroom in the morning. There is no intimacy with Belarus in the house, “said Rachel to Love Meow.
Since the adoption of the Belarus cat, its owner has continued to support the shelter where it came from, to help other cats there. Using the now famous face of Belarus, Rachel organizes fundraisers for animals in need. In 2019, Rachel was able to donate $ 4,000 to the shelter through various fundraising campaigns.
Belarus was born with cross-eyed, due to an eye condition called strabismus
“Belarus is a very active and extremely curious cat,” said Rachel. “He likes to play with balls, twisted ties and almost every other little thing he can paw on.”
Belarus, like any other cat, has its favorite activities. One of them is to play in the shower, even when the water is flowing. Rachel admits he’s a bit of a troublemaker: “He likes to knock things off the sink while I’m in the shower. He also likes to explore EVERYTHING and sneak in every nook and cranny he can find. “
