Thiago created the Sou de rua mas to limpinho project (I am homeless but I am clean) at the end of 2020, and travels the city in search of animals to make them “more presentable”.
Thiago is only 11 years old, but his love for animals is something that has transformed his entire life. The little boy, who lives in the town of Antônio Prado, in Rio Grande do Sul, has created a project where he goes out into the streets in search of abandoned dogs, washes them and leaves them clean, to help them in the process adoption.
The boy created the “I’m homeless but I’m clean” project at the end of 2020. According to the boy’s father, Eduardo, the idea was entirely from Thiago, who uses Saturdays to find pets.
Boy bathes stray dogs to help them find homes
Eduardo told Bored Panda:
He bathes stray dogs, grooms and perfumes them, then puts them back on the street. So that people see them more presentable and thus have more chances of adoption. He devotes Saturday to the bath of rescued dogs available for adoption, I take the photos because a quality photo increases the chances of adoption of the dogs. So far, his project has given 47 baths to stray animals.
To keep his project helping the puppies, Thiago relies on help from local stores for supplies, such as shampoo and snacks.
Thiago told The Dodo:
At the end of last year, I decided that I had to do something for the animals. While chatting with my dad, I told him about my idea of giving stray dogs a bath to keep them clean and scented and people see them differently on the street.
Plus, Thiago’s love for animals doesn’t stop with dogs. The boy also cannot accept the fact that many animals are born just to feed people. So, at the age of 11, the boy chooses to follow the path of vegetarianism.
With the photos that his father captures, Thiago feeds an Instagram account, to show the stray dogs he helps, and to make them known for, who knows, to find a home with a lot of love for each of them.
Thank you for all your efforts Thiago!
