PuppyKittyNYCITY rescuers noticed he had a bruised tail that needed treatment and time to heal. On the day of her arrival, ‘caution’ was written on her card, but a few days later a note was added saying ‘super soft’.
“One day he just changed and decided this…to become friendly. This guy is crazy in love,” shared Meagan Licari, president of the rescue center.
“We are grateful to have this space to assess these cats. Despite the fact that they acted aggressively for a long time. They ended up being friendly and just needed a little time.”
The chubby-cheeked tabby cat was named Shane after the savior who took him to a safe place.
A few days inside, Shane got excited for everyone to the rescue. He raised his paws to attract attention and asked to have his cheeks and chin scratched.
Shane rediscovered his kitten indoors when he started playing and chasing toys. He not only won over everyone he met, but also other cats.
He lay comfortably on a cat bed or on a scratching post, and was always ready to have his belly rubbed.
“He loves scratching his head, playing with magic wands and spending time with humans.”
Shane would often join Meagan at her desk and offer her “help” by sitting on her lap. This former wildcat has found love and is on a mission to never be alone again.
After two years of roaming the streets and two months with PuppyKittyNYCITY, Shane has been officially adopted into a loving home. Before long, he bonded with his humans forever, joined them on the couch and watched TV with them.
Now Shane is enjoying his naps on his back with his paws in the air and his mouth ajar.
When Shane had a feline visitor, Mr. Gus, for a month, welcomed him with open paws. Before they knew it, Shane was snuggled up to Mr. Gus and was falling asleep next to him.
Shane had the opportunity to live indoors during his time at the shelter, he befriended many volunteers and touched many hearts along the way.
