The couple from Hackney, London have struck up a friendship through letters with a mysterious neighbor, thanks to their stray cat Billy. The friendly cat has been serving as a postman and carrying messages between the two homes since September last year, and now the routine has intensified.
Olga Shipunova and her partner Zack King were surprised when their cat came home with the curious note.
Billy had a brightly colored paper letter under his neck and it was wrapped in some sort of duct tape to protect it.
A couple sees their cat arrive with a word

After the couple discovered the note, they opened it to find it had been sent by a neighbor and had a message for them.

The note said:
“Your cat likes to visit us when he’s outside, he sits at the door and meows until we open it. He’s really funny and we love him, we don’t know where he comes from comes and we don’t know his name, but we call him Billy, Att: your nice neighbours.”

Olga, shocked by what she saw, immediately took a piece of paper and wrote her reply addressed to her neighbors, and sent it with Billy.

The answer note said:
“We’re glad our cat is making friends with the neighbors, and his real name is Billy, so they got it right. He likes scratches on his chin, we lost his dog tag but we’ll find some for him a news.”

It was the first exchange of messages between the new friends, but there are now more than a dozen letters that Billy has carefully delivered.
Billy has always been a cat who likes to explore outdoors, so he comes and goes as he pleases. does not have a regular schedule.

Sometimes he disappears all day or sometimes all night, the important thing is that he always returns home safe and sound.
Zack told Bored Panda:
“Billy is a character! He’s a fighter, curious and independent, he’s very friendly and affectionate, but on his own terms.”

According to Olga, the notes for this story were the highlight of her year and she added that she felt she had found a friend through her cat. Now the couple eagerly await the messages their postman cat delivers each week and write the appropriate response to their neighbours.

The adorable tuxedo cat even already has his own mailbag, which is a small plastic container in the shape of a heart.

Although the couple have exchanged many notes with their neighbors during this time, they still don’t know who it really is.

They’ve shared recipes, movie recommendations, hobbies, even a few quirks, and Billy still gets his reward and lots of hugs.

Zack mentioned that he hopes to continue receiving the notes, and while he’s very curious to know who his neighbor is, he prefers to remain anonymous. For him, knowing the person who sent the notes is not necessary, so the mystery is not lost, it is enough to know that Billy is fine.

Zack said according to Mail Online:
“All we know is they’re Canadian, we didn’t expect a friendship to develop, but it’s been really lovely.”

For now, the couple will continue to exchange kind words with their new friends, and they will be eagerly awaiting their response.
