A compassionate person was walking his dog outside when he came across an unexpected sight: a cardboard box with an orange tabby cat inside. The cat seemed to be waiting for someone to greet it and help it.
Deciding to take her to White Plains, New York Veterinary Emergency Group, Little Wanderers NYC Rescue Center stepped in and saved Elf’s life. The shy cat found in the streets was petrified, but delighted to be sheltered from the intense cold outside.
Little Wanderers NYC told Love Meow:
“He eats like he’s starving. He’s worn out.”
This cat found in a box in the cold has the perfect home

Without delay, the rescue center began making preparations to admit the kitten. Meanwhile, a woman named Tricia heard about his situation from an acquaintance’s mother and took an interest in him without hesitation.
Tricia said:
“I already have six who have been rescued from the streets. I thought about it for a second and said, ‘I’m going to take it with me. »

Hanging from a baby carrier, she rushed to the veterinary hospital with one goal in mind. The only thing he had seen was her picture. The next day, after discovering that Little Wanderers NYC was taking care of him, he contacted them and their fates intertwined: it was really planned!
The woman remembers:
“I was over the moon. I told Lisa about the rescue, filled out an adoption form and went to pick him up. When we got home, he liked me right away. C is very sweet”.

After Elf’s ordeal, the shelter was eager to give her the happy life she deserved. Luckily, his perfect home had been waiting for him all along. As soon as she walked into her new home and settled in, Tricia immediately noticed something odd about her hind legs.
Tricia said:
“His hind legs emphasize that. They almost look like the hind legs of a rabbit.”

His unusual gait and charming character made the family think he deserved a name to match, so they named him Thumper. Although this little cat can’t hop on his hind legs, there’s no denying that he’s happy to now have a loving home. Tricia took it upon herself to make sure Thumper’s new life was amazing, and she made an appointment with the vet as soon as possible.
Thumper has thrived in his new home. He is very alert and agile, with no signs of distress or pain in his legs. His appetite is insatiable: he loves to eat! Plus, you’ve already mastered the art of using the litter box effectively and efficiently.

In one day, Thumper went from being thrown in an anonymous box to being the center of attention and affection in his own home.
The rescue center finally added:
“They will never leave him again. It has catnip toys and treats and everything a cat could want. He even has other cat siblings to play with and become a family – a great start to the holiday season.
