This cat has become very popular on social networks for expressing its emotions and desires in a very creative way. The cat named Winslow went beyond his meows and learned to play the piano to communicate his needs.
Although he has an immense talent for playing the small instrument, this behavior always has a double intention, that of attracting the attention of his mother. Every time he plays the piano, it sounds more like a protest than a polite request for food.
The cat plays the piano to ask for food
Kate Nyx, Winslow’s mother, is a musician and lives in Philadelphia, USA. She adopted him when he was only 8 weeks old. He was found in the backyard of his cousin’s house trying to start a fight with the pet.
He was a very rambunctious feline and he was very scarred, covered in dirt, very hungry and had some kind of mange which was noticeable. After extensive medical care and treatment, the cat was able to overcome all of her health issues and lead a normal life.
The 7-year-old cat was a very loud and moody feline, so Kate decided to do something about it. She had the good idea to teach him to play a small piano she bought on EBay when she was in high school, and now Winslow instead of meowing, just plays the instrument.
Kate told LADbible:
“He used to run around screaming all the time, and I was like, ‘This is not good.'”
His main problem was generating a lot of noise with his meows whenever he wanted to satisfy a whim, as he thought that would make things easier.
“The piano is a means of communication, so it’s not screaming like it’s murder.”
All that remained was to train Winslow well so that he could play the keys of the miniature piano as he should.
“He started taking an interest in the piano as a baby, playing the notes and looking down to try and find where they came from.”
She helped Winslow’s interest in the piano become his new way of expressing himself and taught him how to play it at mealtimes.
Winslow was a good student and a quick learner, so it didn’t take long for the little boy to start using his instrument.
“It’s become kind of a bounty hunt because he can’t do much in the apartment. He tends to only play when we’re in the kitchen and he knows he can possibly eat something. thing.”
But Winslow wasn’t just driven by food, he learned to use the piano as a graceful way to communicate that he wants something.
What started as a way to counter bad behavior became a way to alert them to all their daily needs. Besides ordering food, he lets Kate know when he needs his litter changed or if he just wants some TLC.
“He uses the piano to express himself in general, to get attention, to pick up his trash. It’s your alarm system in general.”
He caused such a stir on social media that, with the help of his adoptive mother, he created a song that shows off his ability to play the piano and meow. The single titled “Bean Gotta Scream” was released on August 7 this year and is now available on streaming platforms.
Now, Winslow has become a star known for going from an exuberant cat to a very talented cat.
