Rocky was in bad shape for the first few days, but after a bath and medication, the dog’s bubbly and fun personality was noticed at the shelter.
He danced with the staff and followed them where he wanted. Rocky knows his age, but he always pushes his limits in all sorts of things, his mind is absolutely amazing!
Beth and her husband fell in love with him and immediately wanted to adopt him.
Beth, Rocky’s human mother, told Bored Panda:
“We were there to donate all kinds of stuff that I put together with my military community and I saw Rocky walk in and I couldn’t stop thinking about that adorable old face. Next thing I know, it’s I’m going out with Rocky!”
He didn’t look very good at first, but after a few baths, some medicine, and lots of love, his beautiful personality came through. Now this cute dog follows his owners everywhere and despite his age he has a young spirit.
Although he had a few tough times, he is now in his place and his new parents couldn’t be happier.
Beth, Rocky’s new adoptive mom wrote him a message:
“I took you in knowing that we had to take extra care with you. Knowing that one day you wouldn’t be able to get out in time to defecate outside and that I had to clean it up, I know that one day I will have to carry you up the stairs when you don’t have enough strength to do so. I know you will eventually lose your sight and hearing and we will have to spend money to make the house safer for you. I know that one day I will have to say goodbye to you. But until then you have been the greatest gift I have ever had and I am very sad that I could not give you the best 17 years that you deserved , but I promise you’ll have a better life until the day we have to say goodbye!”
“Rocky may have had a few bad years, but I made him a promise that no matter how long he is here, he will be filled with joy, love and lots of gifts. He definitely provided a missing piece. to the puzzle of our lives and we are more than happy to be his parents.”
Would you do the same?
