Neighbors reported the presence of a wandering puppy dog, without a collar and, apparently, a stray. A dog-loving couple decided to videotape their attempts (over the course of a year) to gain the creature’s trust.
It was not easy at all, indeed, quite the opposite; the dog was extremely diffident, fleeting, at times frightened by human beings. No one knew his past, yet Marla and Joe didn’t give up even for a day and always tried.
Autumn passed and winter arrived, with the seasonal cold and the usual snow; this was precisely the season in which the couple worried the most. How could a stray dog have been saved in that freezing cold?
Days passed, Marla or Joe always tried to get out camera in hand and call out the dog, renamed Scooby. There was nothing to do, but the turning point came with the advent of spring, the season of hope.
One morning, the couple went out for the usual walk in the block and, in the usual attempt to call the puppy, the latter responded to the appeal. Scooby showed up happier than ever and incredibly came closer than usual.
After a whole year of trying, the little dog decided to completely trust those people, whom he began to call with the name of “family”.
The meeting with the other dog named Samson was decisive, because it completely opened Scooby’s heart.
The first time Scooby entered the house was wonderful, for him it was like discovering a new world, an environment never seen before. With the passage of time the puppy dog acquired more and more confidence and awareness.
The first veterinary check-up established the excellent, if not perfect, health of the 4-legged friend, now a member of the family. To date, things haven’t changed and Scooby enjoys his life at home, with a wonderful little brother and perfect parents.
