Emerson went through a very difficult situation when he was born deaf, but a boy decided to change his life by teaching him sign language
In early 2019, a rescue organization helped a litter of beautiful mixed-breed puppies who had not received the necessary care. One of them, whom they called “Emerson”, went through a more complicated situation than the others when he was born deaf, but a man decided to change his life by giving him and giving him love learning sign language.
All of the puppies in the litter that were rescued in North Florida, USA struggled to grow up healthy, but Emerson also suffered seizures and was diagnosed with parvovirus, a virus that can be fatal to puppies.
At first, the rescuers thought Emerson was a little more distraught than the others, until they realized his true condition.
Deaf man adopts deaf puppy
Emerson received care day and night and little by little he showed improvement in his health, the seizures stopped and thanks to treatment he was able to overcome the parvovirus.
The organization reported that Emerson no longer required a lot of care due to his good health, and they decided to start looking for the perfect home.
NFR Maine Rescue said:
“He loves to snuggle up on the couch or just find a sunny spot to rest for a while.”
At first everyone worried about Emerson because no one seemed to care about him. His seven siblings were adopted one by one while he was still there in the hopes that someone would give him a chance.
The organization shared:
“He might be deaf, but he’s an amazing puppy with too much love to give. The only thing he wants in life is to be someone’s partner .”
Days passed and no one cared about Emerson until the right person showed up. This is Nick Abbott, a young man who is also deaf and when he found out about the puppy’s story through the organization’s website, he did not hesitate to meet him.
The boy wasn’t sure what decision he would make, but Emerson ended up stealing his heart entirely.
Emerson received him and sat down tenderly to his feet. According to Nick, it seems that the puppy chose him and not the other way around.
Nick decided to teach his new life partner sign language and thanks to his developed senses, he soon realized that when the boy was waving at him with the letter “S” it meant he had to. sit.
Then she learned to lie down and has learned more sign language tips since.
Nick said:
“We share a very special bond. I think we were meant to be together. “
Although it was initially difficult for Emerson, now he is surrounded by a lot of love and it is a story of improvement for hundreds of people.
