Daniel was rescued along with 294 other dogs who were being exploited at a puppy mill in Madison County, Arkansas (USA). This dog dragged himself towards his rescuers because due to his weakness he could not stand up. He was sick and malnourished.

The dog was rescued by local authorities and members of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). All the dogs lived in devastating conditions.

Jessica Lauginiger, one of the rescuers, told The Dodo:

“I still remember seeing Daniel for the first time in that dark shed, he crawled towards us through piles of dirt and feces, moaning as if he knew we were there to save him. He was full of fighting spirit and spirit from the moment we found him.”

All puppies lacked food and clean water, lived on the land, were raised as pet products.

Fortunately, they managed to get out of this miserable place.

Daniel was finally confident and within two weeks he began to show improvement in his health and appearance. After some time, the Great Plains SPCA managed to find him a permanent family in Blue Springs, Missouri.
