This is an incredible but true story of the rescue of a dog, which traveled around the world after being rescued by workers from an oil well 220 kilometers offshore in the Gulf of Thailand.

The brown dog named “Boon Rod” which means “survivor” was swimming towards the platform where were several employees of the well belonging to Chevron Thai Exploration and Production.

Everyone was shocked after seeing a bulge that bloomed in the water. After a few seconds, they discovered that it was a dog that was swimming desperately to stay alive. This is where the rescue started and it was possible to remove it with a rope.

The helpless animal was notoriously frightened and showed signs of malnutrition. This is where his story took a turn: the workers decided to feed him and take care of him with a lot of love so that he would forget the bad times experienced in the water.

Since the dog could not stay in the oil well, the personnel contacted the Watchdog Thailand organization. From there, they promised to care for the animal once it reached the mainland. He was taken by boat to the pier and then taken to a veterinarian in the Thai city of Songkhla.

Vitisak Payalaw, an employee of the well, was responsible for sharing the beautiful story on Facebook, the same one that captivated everyone because it is assumed that he may have fallen from a fishing boat, but never given up dying at sea.
