Another case of brutal treatment of animals has come to light. Ecoguard volunteers intervened in a small town located in the Silesian voivodeship, Poland. The dog, only a year old, lived there in a kennel attached to a chain. The harness dug painfully into his neck. As the wound rotted, fly larvae developed there. The dog’s owner said he had not noticed any signs of poor health in the animal.
The one-year-old dog has so far led a life full of suffering and humiliation
In Poland, we still regularly hear about cases of brutal mistreatment of animals. It turns out that homeless and owner-occupied pets are vulnerable to suffering at the hands of humans.
This time, macabre events took place near Wołów, in the village of Białawy Wielkie. Ecoguard campaigners found a dog there, just a year old, living in a short-chain kennel. This is a case where there is no accidental forgetting.
The animal had a huge wound on its neck in which fly larvae were developing. The animal’s previous owner must have been perfectly aware that their animal was suffering.
The dog was in a deplorable state
Activists there saw a classic sight: a dog on a chain, a ruined doghouse and leftovers in a dirty bowl. The best the dog could count on was overcooked cabbage leaves or a vegetable salad of dubious freshness. It is very possible that he has never eaten a nutritious meal.
Ecoguard representatives reported what they saw as follows:
“The dog is completely covered in fleas – his neck is scratched, festering and red with blood. When we approached him, swarms of flies were flying above him – because of the rotting wound on his neck.”
The owner said he had not noticed any health problems with the dog
The animal’s attacker said he did not notice the animal’s deteriorating condition because he only looked at it at night. The neglected dog’s previous owner quickly lost patience and kicked the activists off his property.
Fortunately, with the dog. Specialists who had direct contact with the rescued animal admitted:
“The dog is afraid and has no affection for people. Until now, he had led a suffering and humiliating life.”
Currently, the animal is under the care of professionals. Unfortunately, we already know that the treatment process will be very long and expensive. People wishing to support the animal’s recovery can do so through the official collection HERE.
