Bella had always been the darling of the family, so when the energetic Wand arrived, she had to ignore him.
Little Bella has always been the only dog in the family, but since her adoptive mother, Elle Nailga, started working longer, she worried that Bella would feel lonely, so she decided to find her the perfect companion, a puppy named Baguette.
Although Bella apparently accepted Baguette as part of the family and took him in, those close to him would soon realize that this new addition would not be so easy for Bella to assimilate.
It’s natural for puppies to have more energy than an adult dog, and maybe that’s what Bella didn’t realize, because after a while she started showing a series of changes in her behaviour.
This dog pretends to be blind so as not to play with her new sister

Bella started to act like her new sister didn’t exist, or rather, like nothing else existed around her. She had changed so much that the family thought she had gone blind.
She began to see that her dog couldn’t get on or off the couch and sometimes bumped into objects. Later, the apparent symptoms became more noticeable and intense, prompting Elle to take Bella to the vet.

Elle told The Dodo:
One morning I woke Bella and Wand to play fetch. I dropped the toy, but Bella wouldn’t pick it up. I thought maybe it was just because Wand took it first, so I held Wand to stay and threw it, but Bella was sitting there watching me. She didn’t even follow the direction of the toy… I pretended to be about to poke her eye and she didn’t blink! That’s when I got really worried and thought something was seriously wrong with his eyes.

Once at the vet, based on Elle’s observations and the findings of some tests, Bella was diagnosed with acute blindness and was immediately referred to an ophthalmologist for further diagnosis. She was so overwhelmed that she wasted no time and quickly made an appointment with the specialist.
But Bella’s eye result was not what Elle expected.
Elle added:
The specialists told me that they had done a maze test with the lights on and off, as well as other tests. Bella was suspected not to be completely blind as she could still walk through the maze without bumping into each other. any obstacles. They said his behavior was very ‘inconsistent’.

After a series of other studies, Elle received a call from the ophthalmologist, to let her know the final results, and he told her that her dog was not blind, and not only that, her eyes were working perfectly fine.
Helen added:
He asked me if there had been any changes in the house or in his lifestyle, as it may be a behavioral problem. I told her I had a puppy, and that’s when she thought Baguette was behind it…They realized she was trying to avoid and ignore Baguette.
And yes, that was what really happened, Bella wanted nothing to do with this puppy disturbing her peace. He just wanted some quiet, and his way of achieving that was to ignore everything and everyone.

Bella pretended to be blind so she wouldn’t have to play with Wand, and now that her family knew about it, they did their best to give Bella her own space where she would be more relaxed, away from the energetic Wand. , which also learns about borders.
This has paid off, as Bella now feels more comfortable spending time with her little sister, and although the two haven’t quite gotten used to each other’s lifestyle yet, at least Bella doesn’t feel the need to pretend to be blind.
