Jamaica is an adorable pit bull rescued by her family since she was just a puppy who has a huge weakness for fluffy objects. Of course, there’s one toy with those particular characteristics that completely rules this sweet little dog’s heart, and that’s her bright pink chewy octopus.
Unfortunately, the long days of play and the attention Jamaica gives to her beloved toy eventually took its toll. It didn’t take long for the pink octopus to start showing signs of wear and tear, until the tentacled toy broke.
Ana María Peñas del Águila, Jamaica’s mother told The Dodo:
“She loves anything soft and squishy. A few months ago my mom gave her the octopus toy and she loved it!”
Dog doesn’t part with her toy while he undergoes ‘surgery’
Jamaica was really sad, but luckily it wasn’t for long. Ana’s mum tried to help her adorable dog and stepped in to perform risky emergency surgery on the ‘injured toy’. And of course, the dog was quite worried, and she never left her for a moment.

But since then, Jamaica’s attention to her beloved toy has continued to take its toll on her, and she’s been through the “operating room” many more times.

Anna says:
“Her octopus had to be operated on, like three or four times! Every time, Jamaica waits patiently for it to be stitched up. When she gets the toy back, she becomes very happy.”
Ana knows the time will come when Jamaica’s octopus will suffer from the passage of time; his damage is irreparable, the “emergency surgery” does not work and he must be replaced with another toy, but until then and thanks to these surgeries, his dog will continue to have great adventures with his toy prefer.
Ana finally said:
“I love her. She’s a very, very good dog.”
