A six-year-old dog named Ping Pong became the pride of his village in Thailand, after saving a newborn baby who had been buried alive by his teenage mother.
The dog sniffed and desperately dug in the dirt to save the baby, drawing the attention of farmers to the dog in Ban Nong Kham village, Cham Phuang district, northeast of Bangkok.
According to the Ping Pong owner, the dog’s searches exposed the baby’s legs, and then the residents pulled him out of the ground and put him to safety.

The boy’s mother is just a 15-year-old girl, who confessed to having buried her baby and has been charged with child abandonment and attempted murder.
She said she was afraid of her father’s retaliation for getting pregnant. The girl’s family said they would take care of the boy, who was declared to be in good health after his rescue.
Panuwat Puttakam, lieutenant colonel of Cham Phuang police, said:
The girl is now in the care of a psychologist and her parents because she is very scared. He regrets what he did and says he acted on impulse without thinking. She was afraid her parents would find out that she was pregnant.
The minor will be questioned in the presence of childminders.
Ping Pong only uses three of his legs, but that hasn’t stopped him from being a hero. Without him, the baby would not have survived.
The dog was filmed to capture the attention of his community after the rescue. His owner, Usa Nisaika, said he has had the dog since he was a dog and confirmed that he is a very good boy.
Nisaika was guarding her cows when she heard her dog bark. Detecting the dog’s strange behavior, he went to investigate. Surprisingly, he saw a leg stick out of the ground.
He said to Khaosod:
The dog was digging a pile of dirt and the baby’s legs emerged.
He is very loyal and obedient, and he always helps me when I go to the fields to take care of my cattle. He is loved by everyone. And it’s amazing he found the baby.
