When she planned her wedding a year and a half ago, she knew this special guest couldn’t be missed. From childhood, she imagined this special moment and would do anything to make this dream come true. When she thought he might be absent from the ceremony, she didn’t hesitate for a moment. All plans immediately went to the trash, and the wedding had to take place as soon as possible.
The woman had only a dream of marriage. She wanted a special guest to show up
Cat Kukla has always had only one best friend and that is the dog Bear. She first saw him when she was a little girl visiting an animal shelter. It was love at first sight. She knew she had to adopt him.
Cat has lived all the important moments of her life with Bear by her side. First love, end of school, first job – Bear was always with her. That’s why she dreamed that this 17-year-old dog would be with her when she got married.
“Growing up I wasn’t very girly and never dreamed of getting married like most little girls, but as far back as I can remember I dreamed of Bear showing up in a toy car red,โ shares Cat.

The woman found someone who loved Bear as much as she did
In 2011, Cat meets Jimmy, with whom she decides to spend her life. She was lucky because the man loved his dog as much as she did. When she was in college, he and Bear visited her every weekend. The dog has become a big part of their life together. The couple hoped to stay with them for a long time.
When Bear started having health issues in 2018, Cat and Jimmy were devastated. A week before the special day, the dog’s condition worsened. The vets feared the worst. They told the couple to say goodbye to their pet. But Cat didn’t want the dog to disappear on her wedding day.
“I asked Jimmy if he thought we could get married at the vet to make sure Bear was with us,” the bride said. “He replied that he could marry me anytime, anytime.

The wedding was exactly as Cat had dreamed of as a child.
They knew it was a crazy decision, but they couldn’t imagine Bear not showing up at their wedding after all of this. He had to see his parents get married. The couple’s family understood the decision and helped with the quick preparations. The staff at the veterinary clinic where Bear was staying, the VCA Veterinary Emergency Service & Veterinary Specialty Center, were thrilled at the prospect of getting married in their humble home.
When that important day arrived, the senior dog, although exhausted, seemed ready to take on the role that Cat had planned for him since childhood. Driving in his red car, he was carrying wedding rings for the bride and groom.

Bear was placed on the platform and sat there, attentive as always, during our brief ceremony. Right after that, Bear got up and walked outside, something he hadn’t done in a long time, and a lot!
The dog managed to gather energy for the ceremony. After the spontaneous marriage, he began to improve. He was well enough to go to the “real” wedding a week later. However, their ceremony at the vet will be remembered forever.
Unfortunately, Bear’s improvement didn’t last long and health issues began to bother him again. Caring parents try to give him the best possible care. They would do anything for himself remarried at the vet.
