This 9-year-old Chihuahua has spent most of her life in a cage. Her body was used by pseudo-animal breeders, forcing her to breed for years. The dog barely had time to give birth to puppies and she became pregnant again. She didn’t have much contact with people, so she was afraid of them. She was looking for a home where she would feel confident and where someone would patiently show her what a peaceful and happy life could look like.
The little dog gave birth to litter after litter. A good woman saved her from a cramped cage
Mocha, a 9-year-old dog, has given birth to many puppies over the course of her life. She sat in a cramped cage for years and her sole purpose was to be a living incubator. The situation changed when she was saved from suffering by a dog lover who could not remain indifferent to a suffering animal.
The Chihuahua dog didn’t know what a happy life could be like. His entire existence was limited to the four walls of a narrow cage. She never went for walks and had no contact with other dogs or people. She was just a shadow of a dog โ a scared, unhappy animal โ before her new owner decided to change that.
The Chihuahua had no basic skills. Cage life has taken its toll
Mocha’s temporary home was full of other, larger dogs. Huge animals filled her with fear, and she was also afraid of children who didn’t respect her boundaries and couldn’t stop touching her. The caregiver knew the dog would have the best chance of living a happy life in a home where the only residents would be adults and smaller dogs.
Although she grew attached to the animal, she made a difficult decision and decided to find a family who would patiently carry out the socialization process. Unfortunately, Mocha lacked many important skills taught to puppies. She didn’t know how to walk on a leash because she never went for walks. At the very beginning, she was pottying, but we managed to teach her to use the mat when her caregivers were not home.
Mocha overcame her initial fear of people. She realized that there were also good people in this world. She made great progress, but for further socialization, she needed a new home, tailored to her unique needs. The temporary guardian wanted the dog to find his place in the world. She posted an ad online and patiently waited for a response.
After her ordeal, the dog trusted people. All it took was a little patience to undergo a huge metamorphosis.
Fate smiled on the dog, who was adopted by a family with extensive experience caring for dogs in distress. They had perfect conditions for Mocha – the only tenants were adults and another chihuahua. Angelic patience paid off, the dog was finally able to trust people. She had been wronged in the past, but she felt that a good life awaited her with good people.
My second Chihuahua turned out to be a true blessing. Elmer quickly became his best friend. These two were inseparable! They have become the best nap companions and endless playmates.
Without the good people she met, she would probably still be caged and forced to have children. Just one person showing interest in her was enough and the dog’s fate was reversed. Moka went from a scared dog who was afraid of his own shadow to a happy dog. She found friends who care about her. She learned to enjoy life. All it took was patience and a lot of love.
