Whenever Mya, a brindle pit bull with a lot of character and charm, brings the bowl to her mouth, it usually implies that she has something to communicate. Most of the time, Mya picks up the food bowl to let her owner know she’s a little hungry.
Briana Maiola, the dog’s owner, told The Dodo:
Mya uses bowls to communicate many needs. She makes a lot of noise, moves like crazy and relentlessly follows you and stares at you.
By ringing the bowl at other times, this adorable pit bull lets his parents know he wants to get out of a space or just take a walk.
Dog uses his food bowl to keep his place in his bed
Briana says:
“She comes and goes from a window or a door with a bowl and drops it on the door, making a loud noise!”
Lately, Mya has been using her bowl more creatively to communicate with Scrappy and Kekie. When she wants to take a nap but isn’t ready for cuddles yet, Mya drops her bowl on her beloved bed to let the other dogs know the place is already secluded.
Briana recalls:
“We find bowls on beds, sofas, or other comfy places to ‘keep their place’. Mya drops a bowl and comes back up when she’s ready for a nap!”
Every time Briana sees Mya place a bowl on her bed to tell everyone she claims the place, it makes her smile. This example of Mya’s unique way of communicating not only makes Briana happy, but Scrappy and Kekie’s responses just get more and more hilarious!
Briana assures:
“Most of the time, his very patient siblings respect the bowl and find another place to lie down. But sometimes the place is too good to resist and your brothers ignore the bowl.”
When this happens, Briana makes sure not to disturb Scrappy and Kekie’s sleep. Most of the time, Mya is unaffected by his presence and falls asleep with no problem.
The woman says:
“Sometimes when it’s a particularly nice place, she puts on the saddest expression in hopes that one of us humans will clear the place for her.”
Even though Mya’s siblings don’t always respect her bowl messages, they still share an unbreakable bond.
When they’re not running around the yard and having fun, Mya and her siblings love to cuddle up together for group naps. Although she can be quite dramatic at times, that doesn’t stop her family from showing their unconditional love for her.
Finally, Briana said:
“Mya is truly a special dog who has taught us so much. He is the happiest, most restless and most dramatic dog I have ever met. We love it so much!”
