Bella and Snowball were abandoned at the Carson Animal Shelter in California on Saturday, with their family removing their collars and leashes and telling shelter staff they simply didn’t have time to care for the dogs. Bella is an eight-year-old German Shepherd female and Snowball is a 13-year-old near-blind Chihuahua male.
A volunteer who watched the heartbreaking moment commented:
“It’s going to be the saddest thing you’ll see today or maybe all week, and it’s going to be very hard to get out of your mind…Snowball has one eye missing and can’t see very well with the one he’s got. a. His older sister Bella takes care of him.”

Share to save their lives, they must be together. They need a foster home or an adopter to save them now, they are incredibly special.
If you want to provide them with a foster family or adopt them, find more information here.
UPDATE: Bella and Snowball were adopted together!
The pair of dogs are now happy in a loving home. A family took them home after their story broke. Snowball and his sister Bella will never know what it’s like to be abandoned again, and they couldn’t be happier to be surrounded by love and together.
