Brenda Hofstad Hughes’ family is made up of Scoop, Zoey, Chloe and Chancey Boy, her beloved dogs rescued from various shelters, who have anxiety issues.
The family knows their dogs are a bit mischievous and always destroy things every time they go out without them, so they learned a few tricks to protect their home from that mischief. Every Christmas, the goal of these naughty boys is the Christmas tree.
Brenda told The Dodo:
“Every time I leave the house, they smash everything they can get their hands on, and when I’m home…I’m their comfort zone. Everyone LOVES people (except the postman) and EVERYTHING THE WORLD sleeps in our bed.”
Dogs destroy the christmas tree
Regardless of the efforts of the family, Scoop, Zoey, Chloe and Chancey Boy always found a way to reach the tree and destroy it every year and seemed quite proud of their great achievement.
Brenda says:
“The Christmas tree is destroyed every year.”
The mother of dogs felt she had to fix the situation for good and make sure her tree survived all of Christmas.
So, Brenda bought a steel fence, and I hope it keeps curious dogs away from the Christmas tree during the holidays. The steel door cost $200 and seems to have been a big hit.
So far, the dogs haven’t been able to break through “the fortress” that keeps them away from the Christmas tree, but there’s still time and they could surprise them.
Luckily for them, their family loves them just the way they are and will continue to love them even though they’re adorable Christmas Grinches.
