A woman whose dogs were stolen managed to find one of them more than 200 miles away after an Internet search.
Jane Jenkins, a licensed breeder from Swansea in Wales, had her labrador, Arthur, and cocker spaniel, Bandit, stolen from her home earlier this year.
After the flight, she began searching through thousands of online ads, hoping to find her pets.
In March, she received information about an internet ad offering a male labrador for sale in Merseyside.
โI’ve seen thousands of black labrador puppies, and this is the first one I thoughtโ yes, that’s him’,” she told the BBC.
โI couldn’t believe he was on Merseyside. I felt a little panicked thinking about how we were going to bring him back.”
South Wales and Merseyside Police forces confirmed the puppy was Arthur, and the dog has since been brought home.
The owner of the house where he was found was arrested, but was later released without charge after telling police that he had bought the dog from someone else.
But, several months after the robbery on January 13, Bandit is still missing.
Jenkins described that Bandit is of an “unusual colorโ, which makes him assume that he was stolen to be used in animal husbandry.
Jenkins has regularly posted updates on his Facebook page about his search, pleading for Bandit’s safe return.
In a November 26 update, Jenkins commented that the safe return of her pet is the only thing she wants for Christmas.
“Honestly, I’m desperate, give me back my daughter,” she wrote.
“Since he left, I have existed and now I feel my heart beating with pain in my chest.
“Please hand her over to a vet or a caretaker, just say that she has been found. It’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted.โ
