Who can be cuter than a kitten? Sometimes you want to stop time so that the little fluffy miracle doesn’t grow so fast. Indeed, after a year, an important cat grows out of a kitten, which most often only allows it to play with itself. And so, you want your pet to remain forever small, both in size and in character. If nothing can be promised with character, then one can think about the size. The fact is that breeders have bred several wonderful pets belonging to an interesting group – the smallest cat breeds in the world.
The smallest cat breeds in the world
The smallest cat breeds in the world are considered to be Kinkalow and Scythian-tai-don. The weight of these animals in adulthood, on average, ranges from one to two kilograms. Other small breeds of cats are also noteworthy, but their weight is slightly higher.
Kinkalow cat
In 1997, two rather rare breeds were crossed – the American Curl and the Munchkin. As a result of this union, seals were born, whose weight in adulthood does not exceed 2.5 kg, and sometimes even 1.5 kg. A characteristic feature of these little beauties is the curved ears, which make them even nicer. By the way, despite the size, kinkalows are quite curious and even fearless animals. To the delight of many owners, the activity and playfulness of the purr persists in old age. Kinkalow, unlike many other breeds of cats, are very fond of walks, they do not even interfere with leashes, if they are correctly selected.
Scythian-Tai-don
The Scythian-Tai-don cat breed was registered in TISA in 2009. The weight of an adult cat does not exceed 1.5 kg, and sometimes even 950 grams. Outwardly, they look like Siamese, they have incredibly beautiful blue eyes and a small round ponytail. The owners of Scythian-Tai-Dons compare the character of their pets with that of a dog. After all, these little creatures are not only very active, inquisitive and playful, but also perform some commands well, and still do not mind walking down the street.
Minskin
The dwarf was first born in the United States in the late 90s, as a result of the crossing of two well-known breeds – the munchkin and the bald Canadian Sphynx. The weight of minskins is no more than 2.7 kg. They are very active, curious, independent and courageous creatures. Minskins perfectly adapt to new conditions, are friends with various domestic animals – from rodents to dogs. The only thing these little beauties hate is loneliness.
Singapura cat
The Singapura cat breed is slightly larger than the kinkalow and the skiff-tai-don. The weight of an adult animal reaches a maximum of 3 kg. The Singapura cat was bred in Central Asia. The peculiarity of this breed is the incredible loyalty to the owner, which is inherent only in dogs. In addition, these cats are really silent, clever people who never show aggression. Singaporeans get along well with all family members as well as other pets.
Munchkin cat
Munchkins are sometimes called dachshund cats, because they, because of their short legs, resemble a popular breed of dogs. It is believed that this amazing feature is due to a natural mutation. The weight of the munchkins usually ranges from 3-4 kg, and their height is no more than 13.5 cm. The munchkins are kind, playful, they easily make contact with people and even children. They do not like loneliness, but they feel good at home alone, they do not take it out on things due to the owner’s delay at work.
Bambino cat
The union of Munchkin and the Canadian Sphynx bore fruit in the form of very tender, cute and incredibly cute Bambino kittens. Outwardly, these are real sphinxes, but very small in stature. The weight of adult cats of the Bambino breed reaches no more than 4 kg. Owners of bambino cats note that they are very intelligent, friendly and outgoing animals. They are characterized by playfulness, energy and great activity. But loneliness makes them suffer.
Minuet cat (Napoleon cat)
When the munchkin and the Persian cat were crossed in 1995, a breed of cats with short legs and gorgeous long hair came out, which was named very majestically – Minuet cat / Napoleon. The weight of these beauties ranges from 2-4 kg. Unlike the formidable name of the breed, seals have a very gentle character, do not show aggression, and are friendly with all family members.
Usually, the smallest cat breeds in the world are very expensive. There are not so many of them, because all breeds are young enough and have not yet received wide distribution. But these cats look incredible, almost fantastic. Perhaps, very little time will pass and the dream of many owners of small breeds of cats will certainly come true.
