Rachel Fitzsimons, a mother from the Cheshire area (UK), with two children, Thea, 10, and Remy, 7, told the digital Manchester Evening News: “Remy usually slept with Frankie in bed every night, so he went crazy when he disappeared.”
The death of the family cat
The family had been looking for the cat for several days when they made a discovery almost by chance. “We passed with the car a few times on a road, when we saw a cat that looked like Frankie. My husband managed to take a photo, but the animal was seriously injured and it was difficult to identify it.”

At that moment, the Fitzsimons chose to call the authorities to let them know: “They helped us a lot and went several times to look for the body.” “I gave them a description of Frankie: a chubby tabby with a white belly, and everything matched the dead cat. “Of course, the agents could not check the body chip because the animal had been decapitated. “We live near a highway, so it looked like our cat. “In addition, the family did not even agree to identify the animal, because it was too sad for them, so they asked to cremate it directly.
The woman added:
“We went to look for the body, and of course we didn’t look at it because it was too painful.”
Rachel paid for a cremation, believing it would help give her children a chance to grieve.
The Fitzsimons’ cat is coming home
But a few days later, the miracle happened. While the family was quietly sitting in the living room, Rachel’s husband, John, heard something he hadn’t expected: “My husband heard a meow outside the house and I heard him scream. We all ran out and there was Frankie. Remy, the 7-year-old boy who felt closest to the animal, asked his parents “ “Is it real?”It was an amazing moment,” Rachel says.

And the animal was quite skinny after several weeks away from home, but the veterinarians determined that he was healthy. “It is clear that Frankie has 9 lives”” the mother added for the British newspaper.
