There is a rare genetic disease whereby an individual receives the cells of two or more subjects, i.e. their body contains two different sets of DNA. Called “chimerism,” the condition takes its name from a mythical Greek creature, known as a chimera, that was part lion, part goat, and part dragon.
In reality, this genetic disease is not so dramatic, since it usually only occurs in animal coat colors. Fortunately for animal lovers, the result is quite beautiful and the proof is the beautiful cat named Geri.
Undoubtedly, Geri’s cute appearance is taking over the internet, as her adoptive mother Erika takes it upon herself to share beautiful photos on social media.
The beautiful chimera cat is popular on the internet
Although Geri’s photos may describe the cat’s physique, there is no better description than Erika’s.
She told Bored Panda:
“I found her at my favorite pet store in 2019. She was 2 months old. I used to love dogs but as soon as I got her, I switched to cats lol.”
The most curious thing about her condition is that the kitten seems to have two faces, two different colors, which makes her even more special.
All of the photos Erika manages to get are beautiful, but she says credit for the photos should go to Geri.
Although she loves taking pictures, Geri manages to show off or pose with different expressions which makes for perfect shots.
Erica added:
“I really like taking pictures because as part of my job I was a travel writer…so I take a lot of pictures of her. I like to enjoy and capture every moment with her.”
In other words, Geri’s rare genetic condition turned out to be a great reason to brighten up her Instagram followers’ days. Well, the beautiful Persian ragdoll mix cat really enjoys his fame and allows himself to be photographed in any position or situation.
Erika even tried to match her face colors and once dressed up as Cruella de Vil.
Geri has a brother named Taiga, and he’s also a cute fluffy feline who poses for pictures. Together they end up being a good duo, but the truth is that Geri is taking full advantage of her internet popularity.
Her success was achieved through her own merit and Erika is happy and feels very lucky to have Geri and her brother in her life.
