No matter how hard we try, we will never be able to understand people who abandon or mistreat animals.
When it comes to abandoning a dog, there aren’t too many good reasons to leave the dog at the kennel and leave the premises. It is understandable that you are very ill and the dog is suffering, when no one else can help you.
But these are extreme cases. 90% of the time, people abandon their dog because they no longer want it, or they are tired of taking care of it. This cannot be accepted. Those who say that the dog will not notice the difference are simply wrong, and there is a video that proves it perfectly.
The Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Facebook page recently posted a short video of one of their mixed dogs. The dog’s name is AJ, and in the video you can see him shaking and whimpering as he lies on the bed in a cage in the kennel.
Of course, the employees of the place try to calm him down, but for an adult dog who grew up in a home with a family, there is no substitute for that.
Accompanying the video, the breeder explains: “Sweet AJ is beautiful, has incredible energy and was abandoned here with his brother Toby. They walked well on a leash when they arrived, but now they are confused, alone and have the homesick. They need help.” .
“A.J. is 100 percent sweet, sweet and loving, he loves other dogs and misses his brother. He is slowly passing away, he is suffering from a cold and needs your help…”.
It’s no surprise that the heartbreaking video has gone viral, with over 5 million people watching it and thousands of comments and shares.
Luckily, it didn’t take long before AJ, the crying dog, found a home. In another post, the kennel wrote: “This beauty has touched the hearts of many people and today he was able to enjoy his freedom outside the kennel, even though he still has a cold.”
“He was saved, and we hope that tomorrow his brother Toby will be too so they can be reunited. They have both been deeply depressed since being separated. Have a sweet and happy life AJ.”
For AJ, and hopefully Toby too, being in quarantine was temporary misery before loving families were found for them. Unfortunately, this is not the case for most dogs.
Millions of dogs around the world are abandoned or neglected every year. Our mission is to stop this as much as possible, but for that we need your help.
Sharing stories like this can raise awareness for people who suffer from ignorance about the harm caused to a dog when they don’t take their role seriously. Share this on Facebook so everyone can hear AJ’s story! Together we can help you.
