In Manila, in the Philippines, Buboy, the dog of Mabalacat City College was waiting at the door of a faculty room for Professor Marcelo, who recently died. The images were shared on social networks where they went viral.
My Kristina Paola Demafelix shared on Facebook her experience when she saw Buboy, the University dog, waiting for the professor who stroked and fed him.
She wrote:
“Every time I saw you, Buboy, I cried. It hurts to lose a master. And more if you lose someone who treated you like a member of your family? Even when he didn’t have classes, he went to university to take care of you and give you food.”

It must be very painful for Buboy to see that the person he loved the most in the world had left and that he would never come back.
With love, the staff and some students helped Buboy cope with this loss and although at first, he didn’t want to try any bite, now he is starting to eat.
My Kristina said that Buboy used to follow the professor, starting at the front door of the University, then to the classroom where he stayed quietly next to Marcelo while he taught, and even accompanied him during lunch break in the staff room.
He would also walk him to the door when he left to go home.
Marcelo had a stroke at the beginning of last week. At first it seemed that he would get over it. But unfortunately, on Saturday he passed away.
While Marcelo was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Buboy had already visited the staff room from time to time. On Monday, Demaflix spotted Buboy outside the professor’s room, putting his paws on the door as if he were calling for him.
It was already strange for Buboy not to see his beloved teacher.
My Kristina said:
“Mr. Marcelo could not go to university because he was in intensive care. But Buboy always went to the teachers’ lounge, and yesterday we saw him apparently knocking on the door.”
Due to Buboy’s insistence on seeing his master, My Kristina decided to take him to the wake-up site, hoping that she could help the dog understand why he would not see his friend again and so that he could say goodbye.
The tender images about Buboy’s story quickly went viral. And as of the date of this article, the initial publication on Facebook has already collected more than 198,000 reactions, 17,000 comments and over 3.7M views.
Now Buboy is taken care of by the students and the staff of the University that welcomed him, and perhaps thanks to all the affection he receives, he is gradually healing the pain left by the departure of his beloved teacher.
