In Indiana, USA, a family discovered they had tenants living in their backyard. A homeless cat had brought her two newborn kittens to safety. The curly-haired kittens were huddled against their mother who was trying to protect them.

The family looked for a way to help and feed them, but the kittens needed urgent veterinary help. The cubs had an upper respiratory infection, as well as stomach problems and fleas. They immediately contacted Catsnip Etc, a TNR (Trap, Neuter, and Return) rescue center located in Indiana.

Catsnip Etc staff told Love Meow:

“With all these problems, they were becoming more and more lethargic and not gaining weight. When we arrived we were surprised to find two tiny curly haired kittens. We never expected to see this in a kitten. wandering.”

They placed the little feline family in a shelter, Aspen felt safe and managed to get some sleep, but she is still aware of her little ones and their requests. She looks very grateful for the help and the food.

Missy McNeal of Catsnip Etc added:

“She starts purring as soon as you enter her room. He drops down and waits for his belly to be rubbed.”

As the days go by, the kittens are blossoming, their eyes have opened, their bellies have started to grow and they are playful. If they hadn’t been rescued, residents of the shelter believe they wouldn’t have survived due to their condition and small size, but luckily they’re okay now.
