Meagan Licari, an animal rescuer who is part of Puppy Kitty NYCity Rescue Center in New York, received a call about a cat that had been left to fend for itself outside a building, and that he was completely scared and stayed in one place for days.

When the volunteer arrived on the scene, she could see the kitten curled up against a wall, exhausted, hungry and completely terrified. The tabby let out a shy meow as Meagan approached him.

The rescuer slowly reached out to the kitten to see if it was friendly. Despite his fear and expectation, the little boy quickly felt relieved to be petted and allowed the woman to hug him.

As soon as he calmed down, Meagan carefully picked him up and put him in a makeshift carrier bag and headed back to his car. For his part, the feline remained calm as if he understood that he would already leave behind him the hard life of the street.

Meagan told Love Meow:

“I feel like he realized straight away that he was safe. I didn’t have a proper carrier with me at the time because I was coming home from work, so he immediately got on my lap and gave it his all.”

The homeless cat was named after Capone. He was completely grateful to his rescuer and continued to give her affection, the kitten rubbed his face against her and finally laid his head in the woman’s lap.

Megan recalls:

“He was a mess when I first found him, matted, skinny and with some of the dirtiest ears I’ve ever seen.”

The cat allowed Meagan to smooth out the knots in her fur with no problem. He got a little spoiled every time he was petted and given treats, and he was happy to finally be safe.

After feeling completely safe, the fear in his eyes completely disappeared, that night after a long time, he was able to rest in a comfortable bed with a full stomach, and sure that nothing bad could happen.

Thanks to his rescuer’s care, good nutrition and lots of love, Capone began to recover and his coat grew back shiny and soft. Having someone to take care of him made him spoiled and the happiest boy in the world.

Megan added:

“She’s the sweetest of them all, a loyal lover. She loves watching bird TV, lying in her human’s lap and enjoying her inner life.”

After two months since he left the streets, the kitten has not only grown into a handsome and spoiled boy, but he has also found the family of his dreams to enjoy all the love he deserves forever.

Meagan finally said:

“Capone was officially adopted and has the best new home. He has reached his happy ending. He was the best from day one. We couldn’t be happier for him.”
