The Angels Among Us Pet Rescue organization shared a photo of the two dogs and helped them find a home together.
Kala and Keira were pictured kissing in a cage at a shelter. In the photo, Kala’s front legs are around Keira’s neck. They both look thoughtful and fearful, as if they know what to expect.
Angels Among Us Pet Rescue – an Atlanta-based nonprofit that works to prevent dogs and cats from being euthanized in shelters – posted the images on its Facebook page.
“I am Kala. It’s Keira. We are so scared here, you see how scared we are. The people who work at the shelter say that our deadline has come. With this post, the Atlanta Abandoned Animal Shelter released the photo of the two dogs, one hugging the other.

Angels Among Us also shared the plight of the dogs: Shelter workers said Kala and Keira would be euthanized unless someone adopted them or offered to give them temporary shelter. The shelter implored everyone who saw the message to help.
“Keira knows what’s going to happen. She looks good, but I can feel her heart beating fast when I hug her. “
“If you’ve always wanted to adopt, but couldn’t make up your mind, now is the time to say YES!” They commented in their post.
The photo immediately went viral, garnering thousands of “Likes” and “Shares”. He also got results. Just two hours after the image was posted on Facebook, Angels Among Us said the dogs were rescued and left the shelter.
A second much happier photo of Kala and Keira is now circulating on social networks.
Again, social media has shown that it’s not just useful for sharing photos from our last trip. They can also save many lives.
