A 10-year-old dog was rescued by animal control in April after being hit by a car. He couldn’t walk, and someone had shot him in the right hind leg.
The dog was taken to a small municipal shelter in Dallas, Texas and remained there for a week without receiving medical attention as they did not have the resources to help him.
Luckily, a volunteer from a local rescue group called Dallas DogRRR noticed the situation and didn’t hesitate to do something about it.
Dog can’t stop smiling when rescued

Kerry Anechiarico, CEO of Dallas DogRRR told The Dodo:
โHe was physically hurtโฆand when the volunteer went to see him, he didn’t really make an effort to come and say hello. It’s almost like he’s given up and he’s just biding his time. come.”

Through this rescue center, the dog named Sanford met Karen Velazquez, the woman who decided to provide him with a foster home after he was released from the hospital.

Since then, he hasn’t stopped smiling. Karen says it’s like she knows she’s safe by his side.
Karen said:
“I’m currently in my 52nd foster home, and I can honestly say that I’ve never had someone as jovial as him. He looks at me in a way that no other animal or human would. ‘ve ever watched, including my own pets. Basically the only time he doesn’t smile is when he’s sleeping or eating.”

Sanford has a good diet, walks every day and plays with Karen and her other dogs.

Although he is considered a senior dog due to his age, he does not behave that way, he is still very funny and friendly. There is no doubt that he is happy in his foster family, but everyone dreams that he can find a permanent home where he can spend his last years.

He gets along with everyone, even children and loves to play with other dogs, he would make an amazing family dog, he wags his tail all day and always spreads love to everyone.
