A beautiful kitten with folded legs who was found abandoned on a farm next to her brother, she doesn’t care about her physical condition or health issues and is determined to live like a normal cat.
The tabby kitten was with his brother in the stable on the farm, so the person who found them wrote a message asking for help.
Anna Dickerson-Homan, an animal rescuer and volunteer foster mother living in Higgins Lake, Michigan, USA, saw the post and decided to welcome them into her home.
The kitten with folded paws lives happily
At the time, both kittens were around 4 weeks old and the little tabby had very noticeable genetic defects. They were both full of fleas, completely dirty, malnourished and dehydrated; the little kittens were in urgent need of food and special medical attention.
After receiving good nutrition and a hot shower, the two brothers curled up in their new bed and fell asleep within minutes. The black kitten named Bart and the tabby kitten Lisa were born with Manx syndrome, which means they were born without a tail and with spinal defects.
Additionally, Lisa was born with bent front legs and other ailments that prevented her from having a normal life, but she was always in a good mood. After a good night’s rest, Lisa recharged her little legs with energy and started exploring all the place she wanted to meet everyone.
Apparently, the brave kitten wasn’t going to let anything stop her and it was remarkable that she was ready to have a very happy life. Lisa continued to live a carefree life and enjoyed her comfortable life next to her beloved brother, it seemed like she had no problems.
Even though she was short and stocky, she didn’t want to miss out on her daily activities, she even hung on the window sill to look out. The little girl followed her brother around the house with the intention of playing games or creating some kind of mischief.
Some things were difficult for her, like getting on the bed, but she learned to use a ramp and climbed like a champion. Day after day, the little tiger cub continued to amaze everyone with her incredible attitude towards life and the way it thrives.
Vets began treating her little bent legs while providing specialist medical care to improve her quality of life.
Lisa was overcoming every obstacle life put her, and the best thing was that she did it with such a positive attitude it was contagious.
Anna told Love Meow:
“She is constantly upbeat, happy and bright. She’s perfectly imperfect and a cognitively normal kitten who just wants to do cat stuff.”
Lisa might need some help climbing and might not be the most gifted jumper, but she always goes out of her way to be the best.
Anna added:
“We have made some modifications to our house to give you better access to the sofa and the bed.”
The little girl likes to play very hard, but she is actually very cute, she loves being petted by her adoptive parents.
Whenever her human father massages her paws, Lisa falls asleep within minutes in the middle of her arms. Bart, has always been by his sister’s side throughout this difficult journey, and has become Lisa’s main motivator.
Anna hopes that one day the two kittens can find a home where they understand their needs and love them no matter what.
She said:
“I’ll keep them until I find a home that’s perfect for them.”
For now, Lisa and her brother Bart will continue to receive all the care and unconditional love they so deserve, thanks to their foster family.
