A kitten was discovered in the open air, in the cold, with its hind legs motionless and suffering from the weather. Fortunately, he was rescued and taken to Animal Care and Control Services in Anchorage, Alaska, where he received much-needed medical attention.
After Mojo’s Hope, a rescue center for special needs animals in Alaska, took the kitten named Bridger under their wing, he was kept warm with a soft blanket at VCA Alaska Pet Care. There, Emma and Toni, veterinary technicians, gave her affection while she relaxed.
Shannon Basner, founder of Mojo’s Hope, told Love Meow:
“She showed everyone her incredibly resilient spirit, even though her hind legs/hips still didn’t work properly.”
Kitten who can’t walk meets a dog and can’t be separated from him

Shannon says:
“X-rays showed there was no damage to his spine and his body showed a good response to the laser treatment. We believe his subsequent paralysis may be due to a nutritional deficit or possible infection.”

Although the journey was fraught with difficulties, Bridger just wanted attention and seemed satisfied. On the way home, Shannon felt his warm body against hers as she nuzzled into his neck for an intense cuddling session. She stroked him lovingly as he purred contentedly.

The lifeguard says:
“With a more regular schedule coupled with high quality food and regular laser treatment, he has become much stronger.”
Although Bridger is never fully mobile and needs help going to the bathroom, that doesn’t stop him from enjoying life. At Mojo’s Hope, he quickly befriended all the animals there, Cinder, an adorable Husky, being his favorite.

Shanon added:
“She has inspiring adoptive friends like HarPURR (who also has a paralyzed rear end) to show her how to be in the moment and have as much fun as possible. Bridger purrs all the time, he loves being hugged by people, her kitten friends and of course Cinder, our amazing husky mom.”
When Bridger first saw the dog, he was immediately smitten. He loved to get her attention and competed with other dogs for her affection.
Shannon claims Cinder came to worship her. The dog never ceases to amaze with the instinctive care she lavishes on each of the survivors. She is patient, loving, and thrilled with all the love Bridger wants to share with her.

Bridger is constantly exploring and playing, and when he’s exhausted, he just takes a deep nap.
Finally, Shannon said:
“We would love for Bridger to connect with a perfect home that is ready to open their home and heart to your needs and most importantly all the love they have to share.”
