This little kitty with a frown looks like he doesn’t like anyone, but he’s really full of love and sweetness.

This kitten named Widget was rescued by the Carroll County Humane Society Rescue Center in Tennessee, USA. The feline was part of a litter of kittens who arrived at the shelter when they were around 4-5 weeks old and needed a safe space to thrive.

The kitten was considerably smaller than the rest of her siblings, all indications that she was born with dwarfism, although this did not prevent her from performing all the activities of a kitten of her age.

Michelle Roberts, a volunteer foster carer at the shelter, told Love Meow:

However, there was an obvious difference with her. He was smaller and weighed less than other cats. He also had that ‘grumpy cat’ face that I’ve noticed on other dwarf cats.

When the rescue center asked Michelle if she could look after the little ones for a while, she was thrilled. She remembers that when she met Widget, the feline gave her a funny disapproving look that caught her attention.

Michele says:

I fell in love with her immediately, even before I met her. Once I saw her in person, I completely fell in love.

Kitten with a frown

Over the next few weeks his siblings grew and prospered quite a bit in their foster home, Widget on the other hand took his time and his progress was a bit slower. Of course, her little scowling face became more pronounced, as did her particular cheeky attitude.

The feline enjoyed cuddles on its adoptive mother’s chest and caresses, even though the expression on her face seemed to say otherwise. This peculiarity completely captivated Michelle.

Cat and her adoptive mother

When her siblings were ready, each left for their new lives with their final families, while Widget stayed with Michelle, who decided to officially apply to make her part of her family.

Michelle remembers:

Because I was Widget’s adoptive mother, I was allowed to be the first to adopt her.

Michelle thinks the sweet kitten took her heart from the first moment they met and her angry expression is just window dressing, as she is actually a sweet and affectionate feline at home.

Michele added:

The ladies of the Humane Society decided to contact me about Widget because they knew I would love her. They knew I would give her a wonderful home and they would receive constant updates on her.

Frowning Kitten

Widget is a very expressive cat and has no problem letting her mom know what she wants right now.

Michael assures:

She’ll let you know exactly how she feels about everything. It’s crazy how that super frowny face can have 50 different emotions in less than two minutes.

Adorable kitten taking a nap

Despite its small size, this feline is very active in its daily life, loves to run around and play around the house, explore every new place and take comfortable naps when needed.

His adoptive mother says:

Enjoy a good nap in a sunny spot, followed by a bit of stretching, then another nap. He’s got the hang of going up and down the stairs in my apartment perfectly. It’s crazy like a dwarf cat can be noisy going up and down stairs.

There’s no doubt that what Widget lacks in size she makes up for in personality and energy, the feline is now enjoying her life as an indoor kitten and all the love her mother has to offer.
