Rudy Armstrong, a retired Navy veteran, was relaxing on his houseboat with his faithful friend, Bubu, in North Carolina, when suddenly something strange began to happen to his condition, his foot slipped is asleep and he couldn’t move it, so he decided to sit down.
A few minutes later, he realized that he also couldn’t move one of his arms, a situation that worried him a lot, and he didn’t have many options to ask for help.
His loyal friend Bubu, a Chihuahua mix, ran over to see what was going on and immediately realized something was wrong.
A tiny chihuahua saves the life of his human father
Rudy couldn’t pick up his phone, so he looked Bubu in the eye and said:
“I need help, go find Kim.”
Without thinking twice, Bubu ran out of the barge, as if he had understood his father’s instructions exactly. She knew what to do, so she ran to the harbor where she was able to find Kim, the dock captain.
Brandy Popp, public relations manager for CarolinaEast Health System, told The Dodo:
“He came over and instead of his usual greeting of barking, jumping and licking, he stopped in front and lay on his side.”
Kim understood Bubu’s message, so she followed her to the boat and found that Rudy had suffered a stroke and called 911. Paramedics arrived on the scene and immediately transported Rudy to the hospital for more specialized care, while Kim cared for Bubu.
Thanks to Bubu’s heroic action, his father was able to be seen by doctors in a timely manner, so he is recovering very well.
After spending weeks recuperating at the Carolina East Health System, Rudy has missed her loyal boyfriend dearly.
brandy said:
“I went to Rudy’s room to hear the details of when Bubu helped save his life and had the pleasure of sitting with him for over an hour listening to story after story of his life. , his time in the navy and their special bond with Boubou. The fact that he has no close friends or close family made me think of arranging a meeting between him and Bubu.”
Knowing Rudy’s story, Brandy organized all the protocol so that the meeting between the veteran and his pet could go smoothly.
When the day of the meeting arrived, Rudy was taken to the garden of the establishment where he could barely control his excitement knowing that he would meet Bubu.
brandy said:
“Before he arrived, Rudy was practically rocking in his wheelchair like a child on Christmas morning.”
Kim arrived with Bubu at the medical center, and she seemed very confused to be in unfamiliar surroundings, but she quickly recognized Rudy, who took off his mask, and Bubu immediately recognized him. The emotion was so great that he jumped on her knees and filled her with kisses.
brandy said:
“It was such a moving moment that everyone present was on the verge of tears to see Rudy and Bubu’s joy.”
There is no doubt that the company of her best and faithful friend was the medicine she needed most to continue her satisfactory recovery.
After a few days, Rudy was finally released and returned to his ship accompanied by his beloved Bubu to continue living peacefully.
