A few days ago, Mary Lynn Whitacre and her husband had a great scare when their beloved pet, a Lab mix, ran away from home in the midst of nerves when they heard fireworks in the neighborhood. Like any canine, Rajah felt great fear at the constant sound of explosions and in the midst of the confusion he escaped from his home.
The family, who recently moved into their new home in South Carolina, were enjoying the day when their neighbor lit fireworks, scaring Rajah; who before the gaze of his younger sister, a two-month-old puppy, jumped over the fence and walked away from the house into the hills.
After what happened, Mary made a publication on her Facebook account to find her beloved pet missing from her, the woman wrote:
“Our sweet pup, Rajah, got scared by the fireworks tonight and escaped from our backyardโฆ She has a tag with our phone numbers on her collar and is microchipped. She is probably very scared but she is super sweet! Thanks!!”
Dog rings bell at 3 a.m. after getting lost
Mary left in her car looking around her neighborhood for any sign of her pet, without finding her whereabouts. Ryan the woman’s husband decided to go for a walk in hopes of better luck, but he also did not get a sign of the beloved canine from him.
Late at night, they tried to contact local shelters in case they had found Rajah wandering the streets alone. The distraught couple returned home hoping that her dog would find her way home.
Mary told People:
“My husband came home, and I was driving around looking for her. We were ready to call all the shelters, and she just showed up and rang the doorbell”
Around 3 in the morning, the intrepid dog was at the entrance of her home, with her nose she rang the doorbell and her face poked through the camera that her parents had installed there.
Rajah’s adoptive mother added:
“I don’t even know how she knew how to do that. I’ve never shown her how. She doesn’t go out in the front yard except to the car, so she’s never seen us use the doorbell. “
“Ryan was up waiting around to see if she’d pop up. He saw her on the porch, and he ran off and got her.”
The mother of the dog, after the terrible scare, shared the video of her furry companion returning home on the social network Reddit and it quickly went viral.
Apparently during the hours that Rajah was away from home she had a bit of fun, she was covered in thorns and completely dirty, her mother assumed she had had a lot of fun.
Finally, Marie says:
“She thought she was in so much trouble, and she was sad and sulking, but we were like ‘we’re just happy you’re back,’. It was hilarious, and we couldn’t stop laughing.”
