They say that our ‘guardian angel’ is always watching over us, and this is what happened to a German shepherd who was in danger until Kris Salapek, a forest ranger who earned the respect of the Facebook community after rescuing the animal, appeared.
A fun ride through the hills of New Jersey ended up turning into moments of despair for the owners of the giant dog, who had to put an end to the walk after being hit very hard by the heat.
The dog had no choice but to lie on the ground and wait for his masters to realize his suffering so that they would come to his rescue; however, no one noticed the situation and continued on their way.
Thank God, Lexie Daniel was also on the road and a group of young people who saw how the dog was in very bad condition and came to her rescue. The bottles of water that they gave him to collect did not work, despair seized them and the lack of knowledge of risky situations played a trick on them.
And the savior appeared
The supervisor of the Park Ranger, Kris Salapek, who was walking, was the ideal person to come to the rescue of the German shepherd. “This ranger picked up this huge dog weighing more than 45 kg, threw it on his shoulders and carried it over (an) incredibly rocky hill to the stream, and put it in the water while kneeling next to him and pouring water on him,” Lexie told in her Facebook profile.
According to the young woman, the animal “must have been on her shoulders for about an hour”. However, Lexie’s cousin noted that the dog “looked a little better and raised his head”.
We’re going home
After several minutes, the dog’s owner appeared on the scene to find his “lost” friend, but then he was surprised that he was injured. Also, after everyone had said goodbye, Lexie contacted Kris Salapek to inquire about the German shepherd’s condition, receiving as a response that he was already “much better,” she said on Facebook.
