Robert Kugler, 34, deeply loved his faithful companion, a noble nine-year-old dog named Bella who suffered from terminal bone cancer. This cancer-stricken dog undoubtedly lived her last months surrounded by joy and love from her human father. Kugler and Bella took a trip together when he realized she was sick and only had a few months left to live.
The final heartbreaking goodbye between these two best friends came about six months ago, after an epic road trip across the United States, crossing dozens of states and visiting breathtaking places.

Bella had to be euthanized because of the pain her illness was causing her, she was shaking and it was even difficult for her to breathe, one of her front legs had been amputated.

Robert claimed his heart was “broken into a million pieces when he walked in and realized it was time for his beloved pet to go to the crematorium”.

This man knelt down next to Bella’s body and put his hand on her chest trying to convey all his love to her, after that he kissed her on the forehead and nose to finally let her go to the crematorium.

The last photo he took with Bella is now a very precious treasure for this man. While they were on the trip, Bella enjoyed every moment, she swam in crystal clear waters, she ran free and visited several beaches.

Robert also now treasures a photograph of Bella where she is seen standing on her three legs as the sun falls on her body, making it glow.

When Robert met Bella he was still with his ex-wife, she was very friendly from the start and seemed destined to stay with the couple.

Robert said:
“After my wife and I divorced, Bella became my entire family. I was devastated when I knew I would soon lose her to cancer, but I knew I had to be strong for her.”

When she was diagnosed with cancer, she was eight and a half years old, the pain that Robert felt at that moment was immense, he had to decide whether to sacrifice her or amputate her leg, even knowing that this operation would not would not restore it. permanently healthy, the day of farewell was not far away.

“We travel almost everywhere in the United States except for the Pacific Northwest.”
Although she didn’t have her front leg, Bella still exuded a lot of joy and enthusiasm, she loved sticking her head out of the car window when she was traveling on the road.

“His resilience, his enthusiasm, his reluctance to let this physical change get in the way of his happiness, it was so motivating.”

The man managed to capture several moments with Bella and shared them on social media, such as Instagram and Facebook.

Robert is currently writing a book where he recounts his wonderful experiences together.
