As Larry, a Siberian Husky wandered the various streets of a community north of Winnipeg, Canada, he was brutally attacked by a pack of dogs and seriously injured. Fortunately, an animal-loving man named John, who runs an organization called Ruff Riders Animal Transport, met Larry and decided to change his life forever.

John’s organization is a transportation network that distributes rescued dogs and cats to various shelters or foster homes. They usually bring all animals from northern Canada to Toronto, where they have a better chance of having a better life.

John told Bored Panda:

“It was in the group chat where we ranked the dogs that I first heard about Larry.”

Due to his injuries, Larry arrived in the city of Winnipeg on an emergency flight, where vets managed to save his life with great effort. The pup’s condition was worrying and according to John, he was the worst dog to survive a fatal attack.

John added:

“Despite his injuries, Paws Above Rescue got him back quickly, they also have a boarding house where I leave my dogs when I go on these missions, I’m good friends with the owners.”

When John met Larry he was a broken and defeated animal, but the man promised him he would be taken care of and have a happy ending. That day, with Larry, they rescued 19 dogs and one cat with special needs, which makes John very proud of his work.

Best of all, after overcoming health issues, Larry found a forever home at John’s.

John commented:

“I thought about it for a few days and then decided I was going to go home with Larry. He had a lot of dogs and would do well here.”

Although Larry had a terrifying experience, he quickly settled into his new home, even beginning to show his true self. Since Larry’s arrival, he has proven to be a very respectful, affectionate and cheerful dog.

Larry was 11 when he was rescued, but he had never seen a leash, but he learned how to use it and now he can go many places. The puppy’s life has completely changed, he is enjoying his life, he loves meeting new people and brightens the day of everyone he meets.

Only scars remain from his past life, and none affect him to show that he is a kind dog and a good protective brother of frightened puppies.

John added:

“I’ve had 5 foster dogs in my home since he came here and he’s been great with all of them.”

In addition, he likes the cold, so he likes to walk on the frozen lake next to his house to relax.

On the coldest days, John has to fight to get Larry into the house, but those fights have earned the dog a large following.
