owners go on vacation leave two dogs balcony

When a dog comes into our lives, they are officially part of the family. Everything their owners plan from then on must also include their presence. Summer holidays, for example, are not taken lightly, but a solution must always be found to be able to entrust the animal or, failing that, entrust it to a reliable acquaintance. However, it happens that some people have other priorities when they book their holidays, “forgetting” that they have animals to take care of. In Modena, a couple left two dogs on their balcony, in the sun and without food, and went on vacation. Fortunately, the drama was only touched upon.

How many times have we heard stories of abandoned dogs? Especially in summer, this sad practice is becoming more and more frequent. It is also not uncommon to come across these negligent dog owners who, instead of abandoning their animal or taking it to a shelter, decide to leave it on the balcony. It is not clear if these people really expect to find their animal alive when they return from vacation; besides, how to survive in summer, without water, without food and under the burning sun? Two dogs were abandoned on the balcony of a condominium in the center of Modena. The locals, suspecting the continuous barking of the animals, warned the authorities. The firefighters managed to get the two small dogs directly onto the balcony of the apartment on the fourth floor. The dogs had been left to fend for themselves with no chance of getting into the house and getting protection from the sun. Without water and food, they would not have survived much longer.

The couple – a 47-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman – have been accused of animal abuse and must now pay the consequences. “They had gone on vacation and had left two dogs on the balcony, under the sun and without the possibility of entering the apartment to find shelter, food and water”, the agents then explained in a note. The dogs were taken to a shelter, where they received appropriate assistance. Animal abuse is a crime, so negligent owners could face a prison sentence of up to 18 months and a fine of up to 30,000 euros.

If a dog is barking excessively, there could be a problem or you could be in trouble. In this case, the speed of the neighbors was essential to save the skin of the two poor beasts.
