Owners of a pit bull named Ozzy have noticed that their pet always rushes to kittens it spots on its way. Once they decided they couldn’t fight his instincts anymore and allowed him to do with the little cats what he had always wanted. The recording of this meeting has been posted online.
A pit bull named Ozzy has been living with his adoptive family for about three years. It consists of a married couple with three children and a cat named Norm. Although the dog immediately fell in love with the purr, he never reciprocated his feelings.
Pitbull and a Litter of Kittens: What Could Go Wrong?
Ozzy has been trying to befriend Norm for years, but the old cat still remains indifferent to his feelings. Eventually, the keepers noticed that the dog becomes sad every time the purr pushes him away.
A while ago, her babysitter Jennifer took in a pregnant cat on the street. Fearing for the health of the mother cat and her babies, she decided to move in with them. Soon five adorable kittens appeared in the world. It’s hard to imagine how Ozzy reacted to the young cats.
It turns out that the impressively sized pit bull is the happiest in the world because the kittens’ mother and her owners allow him to spend time with the little ones. In the role of uncle, he is quite simply a master. He watches over them and becomes visibly disturbed when he hears screams. During direct contact, it remains firm, but at the same time extremely soft.
Jennifer remembers Ozzy behaving exactly the same way when her youngest son was born. Strollers with babies have always aroused great interest in him.
The difficult past did not affect the character of the dog
Like many dogs from stray animal shelters, Ozzy hasn’t had an easy past either. His guardian revealed in an interview with ‘The Dodo’ that before going to the foundation and then to their home, he was abandoned and living under a jeep. However, despite the unpleasant experiences, he is the most wonderful dog they could have dreamed of.
“Since we let Ozzy interact with the kittens, he’s been so happy,” his owners said.
The little ones also feel safe in his company. They love to climb on top of their lying dog uncle, they don’t mind when he washes them and even take naps together. Nothing wrong with their mother cat either.
“She rubs up against Ozzy as if to thank him for taking care of his kids when she’s not home or as if she just wants to take a break from them,” Jennifer explains.
When the kittens are old enough to find a new home, Ozzy will certainly be hard pressed by the separation from his new friends. However, he will still have their mother Winnie and one of the kittens named Troublemaker. This story is further proof that a book shouldn’t be judged by its cover, as animal behavior is first and foremost evidenced by owner training efforts.
