Kevin Smith and his wife rescued a pit bull they named Ellie. They remember she was so scared she could barely move and seemed to be more scared of men, but Kevin wouldn’t give up and he did.
Kevin worked hard to help Ellie trust him, and he always showed her lots of love and patience, he was sure her efforts would help her and she would finally trust him. Until the day when his efforts were finally rewarded.
Kevin told The Dodo:
“At first, I was worried because she was terrified of even leaving the floor. She was frozen to the ground, and you could tell she’d had a hard time. Now she wants everyone everyone loves her and caresses her. She demands attention.”
Pitbull is always watching his new baby sister

Ellie enjoyed all the love of her adoptive parents for a full year. When Kevin’s wife became pregnant, the couple didn’t know how it would affect their dog, but as the months went by and her mother’s growing belly, Ellie seemed happy to meet her new baby sister.

Kevin recalls:
“When my wife was very close to her due date, Ellie used to lay her head on her stomach and listen to her. It was more or less a nighttime event.”

Upon meeting the baby, Ellie fell completely in love with Peytyn and always wanted to be close to her. It seems he’s been waiting a long time for this moment.
Kevin says:
“We had Peytyn in the bedroom, and usually Ellie is happy to see us, but she just bypassed us and went straight to Peytyn.”

Ellie is now Peytyn’s official full-time babysitter; always follows baby wherever he is moved. It was boring at first, but the family has adapted to their displays of love, as the dog is just trying to make sure everything is okay.

The four-legged babysitter makes sure her new little sister is very comfortable while her parents take care of other household chores. Looking at the baby monitor, the safest thing is to see Ellie nearby, waiting for everything to go well; He looks like the shadow of the little girl.

The family finds Ellie’s attentions to the baby adorable, she really loves him very much. Kevin said:
“You can’t take Peytyn anywhere without Ellie following her. You take Peytyn to the locker room and Ellie is there to make sure her baby is okay… She just sits there and watches you. You lift it to move it and it follows you.

Kevin says his dog is always there to watch the baby; usually sticks his head above the cradle and stares at her for a while. Peytyn is so used to her presence that she even tries to caress her now; He lays his head on the baby’s leg and the baby immediately strokes him gently with his hand.

Kevin has always loved pit bulls in a special way, but Ellie completely stole his heart with her devotion to his family and especially his little sister.

Kevin added:
“The race is not bad. They’re actually very nice and loving.”
