Marie was at her family’s veterinary clinic three years ago when a breeder came in with an adorable gray-haired kitten who is now called Pitoe. She managed to realize that the feline was somewhat different due to a condition of the spine called severe scoliosis.
Pitoe was going to be euthanized because the breeder had an idea that she couldn’t sell it to anyone, but Marie’s grandparents decided to save her life by giving her a home forever.
Marie shared her adoption process through Reddit, and the images had a lot of interactions, most people sent their positive messages for the Pitoe, and others expressed great concern about its shape and size.
Cat round like a ball was to be euthanized

Pitoe’s condition causes her spine to remain crooked and therefore her appearance is different from that of other cats. Its body is shorter and wider, which makes it appear round.

Marie’s grandparents had intended to adopt a cat for some time, but they feared that she might jump off the balcony of her apartment and hurt herself. So, when Marie’s mother realized that Pitoe had scoliosis, she did not hesitate to think that she would be the right kitten for them; its condition makes it calmer.

Marie said:
My grandparents adore her, and she surprised us all with how well she is doing. She can’t jump, but she can walk, run, play, and climb like a pro. All the vets in my family take good care of her and she gets lots of check-ups to make sure she stays as healthy as possible!

Pitoe is very happy, her family loves her, and she is even used to being the center of attention most of the time. She’s also a bit of a rebel and loves to toss her bowl of water.

Marie said Pitoe is arguably the sweetest kitten around, everyone has been shocked to see how active and playful she can be, but when it comes to grandparents, she seems to understand that her behavior should be a little calmer.
According to The Dodo, Marie said:
She is very calm with my grandparents, which is perfect, but it can also be very playful.

Some problems that have arisen due to the feline’s condition are mainly that she cannot jump like other cats and they must take great care of their feeding to avoid being overweight.
In addition, one of its hind legs is not as functional, so it must sometimes crawl. But still, she is very happy, healthy and loving.

Pitoe was named after another cat that grandparents had; who cannot believe that someone was about to end her life, just to look round.

Marie hopes that Pitoe’s story will make many understand that it is worth giving a kitten a chance even if they have a different appearance or special needs.
