In Rome, a group of police came across a harrowing scene. A dog had been abandoned and left tied to an electric pole in the scorching sun. The beautiful and sweet abandoned dog was called ‘Maggie’; she suffered from the heat she had endured for a long time there.
The story was shared by Rome Police on Facebook. They said the dog, apparently one year old, was tied to a post in direct sunlight when officers from the San Giovanni police station led by Mauro Baroni noticed its presence.
Poor Maggie couldn’t move freely and looked very affected by the heat.

Officers untied her and gave her water and food to help her regain her strength. After that, the abandoned dog was taken to a municipal kennel, where it was confirmed that she did not have an ID chip and remained there while her owners were located, according to Today Italy.
Despite attempts, Maggie’s family cannot be found. But then one of the agents who used to visit her at the kennel and had grown so attached to her, decided to adopt her and give her a loving home.
State Police Assistant Michele is the new father of the charming little dog, who now visits the police station frequently with his hero.
For Maggie, the story had a happy ending, and now she has a big family and a loving father who will always watch over her. It even inspired the agents, who rescued four more street puppies and also created the “Always Together #iononliabbandono” campaign, in support of street animals.
