Veterinarian Elise Hall examined the kitten, which was quite shy at first. As the hours passed, he became more friendly and playful, and at the end of the day Elise decided to look after him until his conditions were good enough to find him a forever home.
Elise named it Porg, after the friendly birds from the planet Ahch-To that appear in Episode VIII of the Star Wars saga.
Elise soon noticed that scratching Porg was making big marks on her skin, so she decided to do more research on this. He discovered that the poor kitty had a very particular genetic condition.
It is a disease called Ehlers Danlos syndrome. Elise looked for a way to alleviate Porg’s problems and discovered that by putting clothes on him, the little animal could feel more comfortable and safe, without damaging his fur and skin.
“It’s been a pretty tough learning process to find what has helped keep his skin healthy and safe, but now we have our routine and he feels so much better and happy. He’s doing great,” Elise said.
The syndrome that characterizes Porg has also caused him eye problems, this is the main reason why he has huge eyes that do not go unnoticed so easily.
To the delight of the kitten and Elise, this situation is brought under control thanks to the daily use of eye drops.
